Creative Textiles & Natural Dyes
Studio Story
Juliette Ravel Roychowdhury is a French textile designer who found her creative home in India. After completing her Master’s in Textile and Material Design at ENSAD, Paris, she first came to India as an exchange student at NID Ahmedabad. What was meant to be a six-month exchange became a turning point—here she first encountered the richness of Indian craft, its people, and its deep-rooted creativity.
She returned a year later to work with a large commercial textile mill, but the experience left her disenchanted. The scale of industrial production, the exploitation of people and resources—it no longer aligned with her values. Juliette returned to Paris, but something of India had stayed with her.
In 2021, she came back—this time for good. She settled in Goa and founded her own studio: a space rooted in exploration, ethics, and beauty. Working with natural dyes and sustainable materials, Juliette began a journey across India to meet artisans, learn traditional knowledge, and build long-lasting relationships with craftspeople.

She continues to deepen her knowledge through trainings with institutions like the Maïwa School of Textiles, Michel Garcia’s indigo course, and Map Academy. Today, she also teaches at the Indenium School of Responsible Design and shares her passion in local Goan institutions.
The studio is a reflection of this journey—creative, intuitive, and committed to thoughtful, responsible design. It is a place where each project begins with a question, unfolds through research and collaboration, and ends in a design that feels personal, grounded, and truly one-of-a-kind.
